Community Outreach Team
Meet the Community Outreach Team for Ship’s Human Trafficking Outreach. The Outreach began by passing out warm meals in the early morning hours on streets in Southeast Raleigh where women were working. We found as their basic needs were met, they begin to open their hearts to hear and receive the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our desire is to provide a better environment for anyone seeking change and self-improvement, giving them a second chance at a stable and fulfilling life. Along with being out on the streets regularly to help women, we have support hours for women at Ship of Zion church two days a week and on Saturdays at Galley Grocery.
We invite all women to come to The Galley with any and all needs they may have, and for counseling and love. We invite them to participate in the Sista Strength program; a peer group promoting self-care and spiritual healing amongst minority women. One of the women is currently enrolled in our Transitional Education Initiative (TEI) program working to improve personal and professional skills in order to get and keep a better job. We also work with Interact and other organizations to help women finding housing and for additional support.
